Location: Madikeri, Karnataka
Time Period: December 2015 – September 2016
Clients: Centre for Cultural Heritage Management Foundation, Bangalore, Archaeological Survey of India – Principal client
Over its 200 years of existence, the historic buildings in the fort of Madikeri have undergone numerous alterations both in ownership and usage and accordingly, changes to its physical structure. Most of these changes were not conducted in abidance with conservation principles thus threatening the structural stability of many structures and values associated.
GN Heritage matters undertook archival research and documentation of historic buildings within Fort Complex for Centre for Cultural Heritage Management (CCHM), towards formulating a conservation strategy for long term conservation and management of the fort complex.
